The Fiber Driver® Media Cross Connect™ from MRV Communications is a digital cross connect platform that provides a fully programmable path between any and all device ports. The product line has been designed with a number of leading-edge features, including flexible Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) interfaces, support for data rates ranging from 1 Mbps to 4.25 Gbps with either 2R or 3R signal conditioning, support for physical layer multicasting and self-healing redundant links, and extensive automated scripting capabilities.
All the Media Cross Connect systems can be managed through SNMP, Telnet or the local CLI. They are supported through the graphical user interface of MegaVision Web®, MRV Communications' comprehensive Network Management System (NMS), and any other SNMP-compliant NMS.
Available in configurations from 32 to 144 ports (4-blades), the Media Cross Connect enables the implementation of an unprecedented range of optical networking solutions from media conversion, distance extension and signal repeating to lambda conversion and Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM).
MRV offers a complete range of fiber SFP transceivers, including single mode, multimode, extended multimode, single fiber, CWDM and DWDM. In addition, MRV offers copper SFP transceivers for 10/100/1000Base-TX (RJ-45) Ethernet. For the 4-blade Media Cross Connect system there are two types of blades available: a 36-port SFP blade and a 36-port 10/100/1000Base-TX blade.
