Exalt Communications designs, manufactures and markets next generation wireless backhaul systems for service providers and enterprises worldwide. Exalt products are designed to solve the network bottlenecks associated with the growing demand for IP- based voice, data and video applications and the resulting migration from TDM to IP-based networks, including LTE. With a flexible architecture and technology-agnostic product platform covering multiple market segments, Exalt provides a full range of carrier-class microwave radio systems that meet the demand for a cost-effective and flexible alternative to fiber and leased lines.

Exalt offers an expansive portfolio of innovative point-to-point microwave radio systems that deliver:
  • Carrier-class availability, performance and features in both licensed and license-exempt bands
  • Native Ethernet, native TDM or any combination of the two to support TDM to IP migration
  • Sophisticated interference management techniques
  • The highest level of data and management security
  • A rich set of data networking features
  • A high degree of flexibility, made possible by diverse configuration options and full software configurability
EX-i Series (All-indoor)
The EX-i Series of all-indoor radio systems includes licensed and license-exempt systems offering flexible, upgradeable native Ethernet and native TDM for low, medium and high capacity applications with support for up to 16xT1, 1xDS3 and 374 Mbps aggregate Ethernet throughput per radio.

EX-r Series (All-outdoor)
The EX-r Series of all-outdoor radio systems includes licensed and license-exempt systems offering flexible native Ethernet and native TDM transport for low, medium and high capacity applications, delivering up to 440 Mbps sustained aggregate user throughput and available Gigabit Ethernet support.

These rugged systems are available with an internally switched, integrated dual polarized antenna (EX-r) or type-N female connectors (EX-r-c) for flexible external antenna mounting.

EX-s Series (Split-mount)
The EX-s Series split-mount radios are frequency-division duplexing (FDD) systems operating in ANSI/FCC and ITU/ETSI licensed frequency bands from 6 to 40 GHz. EX-s series radios are fully software configurable and, with native Ethernet and native TDM, designed to support any TDM to IP migration plan. Available interfaces include 4-16xT1/E1, 1-3xDS3, OC-3 and STM-1, with per carrier Ethernet capacity up to 366 Mbps full-duplex.

The flexible IDU/ODU configuration combines indoor accessibility with the RF and cost efficiency of Exalt’s outdoor models.

GigE Family
Radio systems in the GigE family are characterized by their Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and high or very high capacities, as well as a number of advanced features. GigE systems are available in all three configurations/series: all-indoor, all-outdoor and split-mount.

Lite Family
Radio systems in the entry-level Lite family are low capacity native Ethernet, native TDM systems featuring the same carrier-class performance of Exalt's higher capacity systems. Lite systems are available in both the EX-i series and the EX-r series.

6 GHz Capacity Expansion
Exalt offers a unique solution to the problem of extending the life of legacy 6 GHz Part 101 systems that have reached their capacity limits. In addition, Exalt makes it possible for multi-radio, 6 + 5 GHz capacity aggregation in a single Gigabit Ethernet interface. The Capacity Expansion Kit makes use of the license-exempt 5 GHz spectrum and allows the addition of TDM or up to 200 Mbps of aggregate Ethernet capacity per radio using an Exalt 5 GHz system. And, Exalt makes it possible to control the symmetry of the aggregated traffic to ensure optimum capacity is configured in either direction. This is done with a less than 1 dB impact to the system gain of the licensed system.

Monitored Hot Standby Kit
Exalt brings carrier-class equipment protection to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz license-exempt radios with built-in Monitored Hot Standby (MHS), providing fault tolerance and increased reliability through full hardware redundancy and automatic radio protection.
